引言Introduction：
经文：Abraham’s Journey of Faith Message of No.7亚伯拉罕的信心之旅第七讲。Our topic today is“faith that questions；faith amidst questions”今天我们的讲题是“坚信中的疑问；疑问中的坚信”。Scripture reading is from《Genesis》15经文是来自《创世记》第十五章。We will read verses 1 to 8我们会读第1节到第8节。《Genesis》15：After these things，the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision：“Fear not，Abram，I am your shield；your reward shall be very great.”But Abram said“O Lord God, what will you give me，for I continue1 childless，and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”And Abram said“Behold，you have given me no offspring and a member of my household will be my heir.”第1节到第3节：这事以后耶和华在异象中有话对亚伯兰说：“亚伯兰，你不要惧怕！我是你的盾牌，必大大地赏赐你。”亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，我既无子，你还赐我什么呢？并且要承受我家业的是大马士革人以利以谢。”亚伯兰又说：“你没有给我儿子；那生在我家中的人就是我的后嗣。”Verse 4第四节起：And behold，the word of the Lord came to him：“This man shall not be your heir；your very own son shall be your heir.”And he brought him outside and said“Look toward heaven and number the stars if you are able to number them.”Then he said to him“So shall your offspring be.”And he believed the Lord，and he counted it to him as righteousness耶和华又有话对他说：“这人必不成为你的后嗣；你本身所生的才成为你的后嗣。”于是领他走到外边，说：“你向天观看，数算众星，能数得过来吗？”又对他说：“你的后裔将要如此。”亚伯兰信耶和华，耶和华就以此为他的义。Verse 7：And he said to him“I am the Lord who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess.”But he said“O Lord God，how am I to know that I shall possess it?”第七节：耶和华又对他说：“我是耶和华，曾领你出了迦勒底的吾珥，为要将这地赐你为业。”亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，我怎能知道必得这地为业呢？”We will read up to verse 8我们就读到第八节为止。
As we proceed along the path of the Christian faith，there are some questions that we sometimes raise，even raised before god我们在走基督徒信心的路程的时候，心里面有一些的问题的，甚至乎我们会向上帝提出的这个问题：
[1]How do I know that my faith is accepted by God我怎么知道我的信心是被神所悦纳的呢?How do I know he’s pleased我怎么知道上帝喜悦我的信心呢？Another question has to do with ups and downs of the Christian journey另外一个问题是关乎到我们的信心的旅程是有起伏的——有高有低的。
[2]So after spiritual peaks of victory and triumph what may happen next所以在属灵得胜——属灵的高峰之后，有可能会发生什么事呢？Another question from the heart另外一个问题会从心里发出的：
[3]Is it ok for me to ask God why he hasn’t fullfilled his promises我可以不可以问上帝他为什么还没有实现他对我的应许呢？Related to this is another question与这个问题有关的就是另外一个问题：
[4]Does God give me any signs that he will fullfill his promises上帝会不会给我一些的『印证』说明他会实现他的应许呢？Finally a question that we may not ask very often最后一个问题是我们可能没有想到要常常问自己的：
[5]When I pray当我祷告的时候，what should be my greatest or highest desire我应该有怎么样的最高的、最大的愿望——what should be my greatest desire最大的愿望应该是什么呢？
Now today in our study of《Genesis》15，we will see Abram and go through some of these issues in this very interesting moment in this journey今天我们读到《创世记》第十五章，我们看到亚伯兰来到一个非常有意思的一个时刻，他可能面对这些的课题的。
I.信心是成长的过程——《创世记》12-14章FAITH MATURES. IT IS THE PROCESS——《Genesis》Chapters12-14：
First let us review第一我们来温习：Faith matures.弟兄姐妹，信心是会成长的，it is the process信心是一个成长的过程。Let us go through Abraham’s journey up to this point in《Genesis》12 ：13 &14我们来温习一下亚伯兰的信心的旅程——从《创世记》第十二章到第十四章。
1.First he started off very well第一亚伯兰起步的时候表现的非常
好——He obeyed and worshipped God through altars他顺从上帝、他也建筑祭坛敬拜他。Then……
2.We see Abram failed miserably in Egypt第二我们看到亚伯兰大大的失败——他下到埃及去。After that……
3.这个事情过了之后，第三.We see that Abram learned from this lesson and grew tremendously in Chapter 13 and 14我们看到这个事情过去了之后呢，亚伯兰吸取了功课，有很显著的进步——（《创世记》）十三章、十四章：He exercised charity or love to his nephew and others他向他的侄子罗得实行了爱心，也向别人表达了他的爱心。4.And so by the time we get to the end of Chapter 14所以到了《创世记》第十四章结束的时候呢，we see that Abram gained a three fold victory…a Triple victory我们看到了亚伯兰三重的…三方面得胜了。
[a]He overcame Lot’s enemies including the kings of Mesopotamia亚伯兰胜过了罗得的敌人——一些（美索不达米亚的）强国。
[b]Secondly Abram overcame men’s applause第二.亚伯兰胜过了人的称赞——He was not absorbed by it他没有被人们称赞所吸收。
[c]Third Abram overcame men’s offer of temptation over riches第三亚伯兰胜过了人给他的财富的诱惑。So he gained a Triple victory所以他有三方面的得胜。
5.第五At the same moment，Abram gave God the honor and gave God his tithes亚伯兰把荣耀归给上帝；同时也把他的十分之一奉献归给上帝：
So you see tremendous growth and maturity by the time we get to the end of Chapter 14所以到了《创世记》第十四章结束的时候，我们看到亚伯兰有非常显著的成长。Again，he has a triple victory我再说这里是一个三重的得胜 。
6.Now victory is a victory can be exhausting胜利很有可能带来疲乏（而）耗尽的。Now Abram is coming down from the mountain top of victory现在，亚伯兰从得胜的山顶下来了——他下山了。What awaits him山底有什么等着他呢？Before we answer that question我们还没有回答这个问题之前呢，let us move on to review what God has been doing all this time我们来温习一下上帝在这里又在做什么 ？
- GOD NEVER STOPS WORKING IN US AND AROUND US上帝永不停止工作：祂不断在我们心里、在我们周围工作：
You see，brothers and sisters , God never stops working弟兄姐妹，上帝永远不会停止工作的。Jesus says：My father works until now耶稣说：我父做工到如今——《John》5：17《约翰福音》五章第17节。God never stops working in us and he never stops working around us上帝永远不会停止在我们心里面做工，也永远地不断在我们周围做工的。So all things together for good所以万事都互相效力的。
Let’s review：What God has been doing？Perhaps by this review，you can also review your own blessings from God我们来温习一下：可能这个温习让你也重温上帝是怎么样赐福给你的。

1.God gave Abram promises and command首先，上帝对亚伯兰应许——好几方面的应许和他的命令——Chapter12：1-3第十二章1到3节。And so Abram took off好，所以亚伯兰开始了，开始走这条路了 。
2.When Abram sined and felled miserably第二当亚伯兰犯罪跌倒的时候，during that hour，God protected him，and by the way God protected those around him上帝在那个时刻保护了亚伯兰，也保护他周围的人，including his wife包括他的妻子。
3.When Abram was expelled from Egypt第三方面当亚伯兰被赶出埃及的时候，Gos gave Abram provision——abundant provision which he didn’t deserve上帝给亚伯兰丰富的物质上的供应，这个是亚伯兰不配得到的——Chapter 13 verse 1（《创世记》）第十三章第1节。Promise、protection、provision应许、保护、供应。
4.You see in Chapter 14 God’s mighty power gave Abram victory over his enemies第四方面第十四章我们看到上帝的大能让亚伯兰胜过他的敌人的。
5.Also in Chapter 14第五也是在第十四章的：God manifested his presence with Abram上帝彰显他自己、他的同在——上帝向亚伯兰彰显他的同在。He appeared to him他显现 in the person of Melchizedek透过麦基洗德，上帝向亚伯兰显现；and blessed him也同时赐福给他的。So again，promise、protection、provision power、presence上帝的应许、上帝的保护、上帝的供应、上帝的大能、上帝的同在。
6.Now let’s we come to Chapter 15现在我们来到第十五章：God’s gonna give more promises上帝会再一次的给亚伯兰更多的应许；God will be doing more mighty acts上帝会再做一些大能的作为；God will again reassure Abram of his presence上帝再一次向亚伯兰保证他的同在的。God never stops working in his people 上帝也在他子民的生命里永远不会停止工作的，and he will never stop working in your life上帝也永远的不会在你的生命中停止工作的。Untill we meet him and Jesus face to face直到我们面对面见他，和见我们的主耶稣基督的。So Abraham’s been growing up to this mountain top所以亚伯兰在成长，一直到这个胜利的山顶；God never stopped working上帝也从来不断的在做工。
III.FAITH WAITS AND WONDERS信心会等候、也会疑问：
Now let us observe Abram at this juncture现在我们来看亚伯兰在这刻：faith waits and faith wonders信心会等候的；信心也会疑问的。That is natural，that is normal这是很自然的、很正常的。A person of faith waits for God’s promise to be fullfilled有信心的人会等候上帝实现他的应许，and a person of faith will wonder when and how God will fullfill his promises有信心的人也会疑问上帝什么时候用什么方法实现他的应许的。So as Abram descends from the mountain top of victory，perhaps he has a few questions所以当亚伯兰从山顶上下来的时候，可能有些的问题的：
1.This is deduced from verse 1第一这个是从第一节推论出来的：Abram may ask himself：Have I done the right thing亚伯兰可能自己问自己“我做对了吗？”Is God pleased what I did上帝看我所做的他喜悦吗？
2.Abram is now a great power，and power attracts enemies or attracts them to return第二现在亚伯兰是一个很大的、有能的…可以说（是)一个王子——中文说“树大招风”啊！Will the enemies return including Mesopotamians return敌人会回来吗？这些大国会再来攻打吗？Fear and worry惧怕，可能有点的忧虑。The more importantly he looked inward更重要的是他看他自己的内心：
3.When will God fullfill his promise to me上帝什么时候会实现他对我的应许呢？When will God give me my heir上帝什么时候要赐给我后嗣继承我的产业呢？
4.And finally、fourthly最后第四个问题：How can I be sure that God will fullfill his promises我怎么能够确实地知道、我怎么有把握知道上帝会实现他的应许？
Now brothers and sisters，let me suggest that sooner or later，we may ask one or more these questions弟兄姐妹，让我建议：我们走信心的道路的时候，我们迟早都会面对或者会考虑其中一条或者两条问题的。Now here are two key principles we must remember在这里我们必须记得两个关键性的原则：
1.KEY#1第一个关键原则：As a believer，honestly asking God questions is acceptable作为一个信徒，在神面前坦诚地发问题，是可以的、是被接纳的——God knows the secret of our heart上帝都知道我们心里面隐秘…隐藏了什么样的思想。So we read in 《Psalms》and《Job》——《Old Testament》 saints came to God honestly and ask questions所以从《诗篇》、从《约伯记》我们看到旧约的圣徒他们会很坦诚的来到上帝面前提问的。Now it is not acceptable to sin犯罪是不可以被接纳的；not to believe in God，that’s not acceptable不信、不信靠上帝，这个是上帝不接纳的；but to believe and at the same time raise questions as a believer is acceptable但是作为信徒，一方面相信上帝，一方面提出问题，是可以的。That’s the first key principle这是第一个关键性的原则。
2.KEY#2 the second key principle第二个关键性的原则：What was Abraham’s greatest desire in his heart亚伯拉罕心里面、心里深层最大的愿望是什么？
And by（20：07）we need to ask ourselves the same questions我们同样的也需要问自己这个问题的：What is the greatest desire of my heart我心里面最大的愿望是什么？Was Abram’s greatest desire to have a baby boy、a lovely baby boy亚伯兰最大的愿望是不是生下一个可爱的男孩子，就是这样子呢？From the Bible we agreed that Abram was looking forward to a heavenly city——a city built by God从圣经里面我们知道：亚伯兰追求的、盼望的是天上的城——有根有基的城；Abram was looking forward to God’s kingdom亚伯兰等候上帝的国度来到。He was waiting for God to bless the nation through him and his descendants亚伯兰在等候上帝有一天要透过他跟他的后裔，把福分赐给万国万民的。In other words，the greatest desire of Abram’s heart was to participate in God’s plan for the world所以亚伯兰的最大的愿望就是要在上帝对普世的计划，在这个计划里面有份——这个是他最大的愿望。
