《再思救赎奇恩》第二部分第29讲, 我们上一讲开始了讲与基督的联合的性质,第一是属灵的,而“属灵的”这个字呢,是指圣灵的,圣灵的工作,而不是指人如何属灵。

Hence when we say that union with Christ is Spiritual 所以当我们说与基督的联合是属灵的联合,we mean, first of all, that 我们首先的意思乃是说,the bond of this union is the Holy Spirit himself.首先的意思就是说,与基督的联合的联结者就是圣灵祂自己。(1 Cor.12:13哥林多前书2:13) “For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body,whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free. And we were all made to drink of one Spirit”(哥林多前书2:13,) “我们不拘是犹太人,是希利尼人,是为奴的,是自主的,都从一位(圣)灵受洗成了一个身体,饮于一位灵。”或者是圣灵。(哥林多前书2:13)(cf. 1 Cor.6:17,19;参考哥林多前书6:17,和第19节。第17节:“与主联合的,便是与主成为一灵。”19节:“你们的身子就是圣灵的殿,这圣灵是从上帝而来,住在你们里头的,你们不是自己的人,”Rom 8:9-11罗马书8:9-11,“如果上帝的灵住在你们心里,你们就不属肉体,乃属灵了。人若没有基督的灵,就不是属基督的。基督若在你们心里,身体就因罪而死,心灵却因义而活。然而叫耶稣从死里复活者的灵若住在你们心里,那叫基督耶稣从死里复活的,也必借着住在你们心里的灵,使你们必死的身体又活过来。”1 John 3:24 约翰一书3:24,“遵守上帝命令的就住在上帝里面,上帝也住在祂里面。我们所以知道上帝住在我们里面,是因祂所赐给我们的灵。”约翰一书4:13:“上帝将祂的灵赐给我们,从此就知道我们是住在祂里面,祂也住在我们里面。”)

We need to appreciate for more than we have been wont to the close interdependence of Christ and Holy Spirit in the operations of saving grace.我们必须比我们的意愿更加强的体会到耶稣基督和圣灵在救赎恩典的运行的时候,是怎么样的密切地彼此依靠的。The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ圣灵是基督的灵,the Spirit is the Spirit of the Lord灵是主的灵and Christ is the Lord of the Spirit,而基督是灵的主。(参考不同的经文:罗马书8:9“如果上帝的灵住在你们心里,你们就不属肉体,乃属灵了。人若没有基督的灵,就不是属基督的。”2 Cor.3:18:哥林多后书3:18我们从第17节开始读:“主就是那灵,主的灵在哪里,那里就得以自由。我们众人既然敞着脸,得以看见主的灵光,好像从镜子里返照,就变成主的形状,荣上加荣,如同从主的灵变成的。”1 Peter 1:11彼得前书1:11“就是考察在他们心里基督的灵,(在讲旧约的先知们啊),在他们心里基督的灵预先证明基督受苦难,后来得荣耀是指的什么时候,并怎样的时候,”

Christ dwells in us as if his Spirit dwells in us,基督住在我们里面,就好像祂的灵住在我们里面一样,and he dwells in us by the Spirit.而基督是借着圣灵住在我们里面的。Union with Christ is a great mystery.与基督的联合是一个伟大的奥秘。That the Holy Spirit is the bond of this union,圣灵是与基督联合这个联合的联结者,does not diminish the mystery一点都没有削减这个奥秘but this truth does throw a flood of light upon the mystery但是这个真理的确让这个奥秘好像一个大光光照一样,就是显明这个奥秘的意思,but this truth does throw a flood of light upon the mystery and it also guards the mystery against sensuous notions, on the one hand, and pure sentimentality on the other.这个真理就是圣灵使我们与基督联合,也维护着这个奥秘,提防一些感情上的,或者用感官来做的概念,一方面;另外一方面是纯粹的、属灵的情绪。

This brings us to note, in the second place, that union with Christ is Spiritual because it is a spiritual relationship that is in view.这样就使我们进入到第二方面:与基督的联合是属灵的,因为所考虑到的是一个属灵的关系。It is not the kind of union that we have in the God-head– three persons in one God.与基督联合,就不像在神格–三位一体里面的联合三个位格、一个神那种的联合,不是的。It is not the kind of union we have in a person of Christ–我们与基督的联合也不是像基督的位格里面的联合–two natures in one person.神性人性,两个本性在一个位格里面。It is not the kind of the union we have in man–与基督的联合也不像我们在人里面所有的联合–body and soul constituting a human being.身体和灵魂构成一个人。It is not simply the union of feeling, affection, understanding, mind heart, will, and purpose.与基督的联合也不仅仅是感觉、情操、理解、理智、心、意志和意旨这种的联合。Here we have union which we are unable to define specifically.与基督联合是我们不可能很确定的为它做定义的。

But it is the union of an intensely spiritual character但是,与基督的联合是一个非常非常属灵的联合consonant with the nature and work of the Holy Spirit,是符合圣灵的本性和祂的工作的so that in a real way surpassing our power of analysis Christ  dwells in his people and his people dwells in him.因为圣灵是谁,因为圣灵的工作的缘故呢,基督住在祂的子民里面,祂的子民也住在基督里面,这两个事实是真的,但是呢,是超越我们分析的能力的,是属灵的。

2、与基督联合的第二个本质It is Mystical是奥秘的。When we use the word “mystical” in this connection当我们在讨论与基督联合用奥秘的这个字的时候,it is well to take our starting-point from the word “mystery” as it is used in the Scripture.我们的起点乃是在圣经里所用的“奥秘”这个字,这个作为我们的出发点mystery奥秘。We are liable to use the word to designate something that is completely unintelligible ,我们很多时候,用奥秘这个字,是指一些完全不能被人理解的东西and of which we cannot have any understanding.就是我们不可能有任何理解的东西。That is not the sense of Scripture. 这个不是圣经讲到奥秘的时候的意思。The apostle in Romans 16:25,26 使徒保罗在罗马书16:25-26,那里,sets the points for the understanding of this term.他就指出:明白奥秘这个词的一些要点。There Paul speaks of “the revelation of the mystery hid from times eternal, but manifested now through the Scriptures of the prophets according to the commandment of the eternal God and made known unto the obedience of faith among all nations.”罗马书16:25-26是这样说的:“上帝能照我所传的福音和所讲的耶稣基督,并照永古隐藏不言的奥秘,坚固你们的心。这奥秘如今显明出来了,而且按着永生上帝的命,(就是命令,)借众先知的书,指示万国的民,使他们信服真道。”(罗马书16:25-26)

There are four things to be observed about this mystery.关于这个奥秘,我们要指出四件事,(1)第一件事It was kept secret from times eternal–自从永古以来是隐藏的–it was something hid in the mind and counsel of God.隐藏在上帝的心思意念、上帝永恒的计划中。(2)第二件事:It did not continue to be kept hid–但是它不是永远隐藏的–it was manifested and made known in according with the will and commandment of God.根据上帝的旨意,根据上帝的命令,这个隐藏的奥秘彰显出来了,人可以知道了。(3)第三件事,This revelation on God’s part was mediated through and deposited in the Scripture–这个上帝所造成的显明或者启示,是借着存放在圣经里,就是借着圣经的话作为媒介显明的–it was revealed to all nations是显明给万国知道and it’s no longer secret.现在不再是隐秘的奥秘了,不再是秘密了。(4)第四件事,This revelation it directed to the end that all nations may come to the obedience of faith.现在这个显明,这个启示的目的乃是万国万民能够来到信心和顺服中。A mystery is, therefore, something which eye hath not seen nor ear heard neither hath entered into the heart of man因此,那个奥秘乃是眼睛没有看见,过耳朵没有听见过,也没有进入过人的心中的事but which God has revealed unto us by his Spirit可是上帝借着祂的灵向我们启示了,这个上帝启示的事,奥秘是这个and which by revelation and faith comes to be known and appropriated by men.也借着上帝的启示和人的信心,现在人能够认识、能够知道,人能够领受、领取它。

That union with Christ is such a mystery is apparent.与基督的联合是这样一种的奥秘,这个是很明显的。In speaking of union with Christ and after comparing it with the union that exists between man and wife, Paul says:当保罗论道与基督联合,就是当他做出一个比较,用丈夫和妻子间的关系比较之后呢,保罗是这样说的: “This mystery is great, but I speak of Christ and of the church” (Eph.5:32) 保罗这样说: “这是极大的奥秘,但我是指着基督和教会说的”。And again Paul speaks of “the riches of the glory of this mystery among Gentiles,which is Christ in you,the hope of glory” and describes it as “the mystery which has been hid from the ages and from the generations, but now has been manifested to his saints” (Col. 1:26,27)保罗在歌罗西书这样说:1:26-27节:“这道理就是历世历代所隐藏的奥秘,但如今向祂的圣徒显明了。上帝愿意他们知道这奥秘在外邦人中有何等丰盛的荣耀,就是基督在你们心里成了有荣耀的盼望。” Union with Christ is mystical because it is a mystery.与基督的联合是奥秘的,因为它本身是一个奥秘。The fact that it is a mystery underlines the preciousness of it与基督的联合是奥秘,就强调与基督的联合是宝贵的,and the intimacy of the relation it entails.也告诉我们这个联合和这个联合所带来的与祂的关系是多么的亲密。

The wide range of similitude used in Scripture to illustrate union with Christ is very striking.thing很令人惊讶的是,圣经里面有各种各样不同的比喻来表明与基督的联合。On the highest level of being it is compared to the union which exists between the persons of the trinity in the Godhead.在最高的存在的层次,与基督的联合是与上帝三位一体三个位格之间的联合做比较的。This is staggering 这个是不可思议的,but it is the case(John 14:23;17:21-23).但是,事实上是如此。(约翰福音14:23,:“耶稣回答说:人若爱我就必遵守我的道,我父也必爱他。并且我们要到他那里去,与他同住。”John 17:21-23:约翰福音17:21-23:“使他们都合而为一,正如你父在我里面,我在你里面。使他们也在我们里面。叫世人可以信你差了我来,你所赐给我的荣耀,我已赐给他们,使他们合二为一,像我们合而为一。我在他们里面,你在我里面,使他们完完全全的合而为一,叫世人知道你差了我来,也知道你爱他们,如同爱我一样。”约翰福音17:21-23。)这个是最高的,on the highest level。On the lowest level 在最低的存在的存有的层次,it is compared to the relation that exists between the stones of a building and the chief corner stone.在最低的层次的与基督的联合有什么比较呢?与一栋楼房的石头和房角石之间的关系作比较的。(Eph.2:19-22:弗2:19-22: “这样,你们不再作外人和客旅,是与圣徒同国,是上帝家里的人了。并且被建造在使徒和先知的根基上,有基督耶稣自己为房角石,各(或作“全”)房靠他联络得合式,渐渐成为主的圣殿。你们也靠他同被建造,成为上帝藉着圣灵居住的所在。”1 Peter2:4-5:彼得前书2:4-5主乃活石,固然是被人所弃的,却是被 神所拣选、所宝贵的。你们来到主面前,也就像活石,被建造成为灵宫,作圣洁的祭司,藉着耶稣基督奉献上帝所悦纳的灵祭。

In between these two limits从最高最高的圣父圣子这种联合,到最低的石头之间的联合,between these two limits在这两个极端中间,there is a variety of similitude drawn from different levels of being and relationship.中间有各种来自不同层次的存有跟关系的比喻。It is compared to the union that existed between Adam and all of posterity.与基督联合是与亚当和他所有的后裔之间的关系做比较的。(Rom.5:12-19:罗马书5:12-19: “这就如罪是从一人入了世界,死又是从罪来的;于是死就临到众人,因为众人都犯了罪。(我们跳到15节)只是过犯不如恩赐。若因一人的过犯,众人都死了,何况上帝的恩典,与那因耶稣基督一人恩典中的赏赐,岂不更加倍地临到众人吗?因一人犯罪就定罪,也不如恩赐;原来审判是由一人而定罪,恩赐乃是由许多过犯而称义。若因一人的过犯,死就因这一人作了王;何况那些受洪恩又蒙所赐之义的,岂不更要因耶稣基督一人在生命中作王吗?如此说来,因一次的过犯,众人都被定罪;照样,因一次的义行,众人也就被称义得生命了。因一人的悖逆,众人成为罪人;照样,因一人的顺从,众人也成为义了。”参考哥林多前书15章,我们就不读这段了从19节一直到第49节。)就是说与基督联合呢,与亚当跟他所有的后裔是相比较的。

It is compared to the union that exists between man and wife,与基督联合是与丈夫与妻子之间的联合做比较的,(弗5:22-23,我们从略不读了,参考约翰福音3:29: “娶新妇的就是新郎,新郎的朋友站着听见新郎的声音就甚喜乐,故此我这喜乐满足了。”it is compared to the union that exists between the head and the other members and human body.与基督联合也是与头和人的身体其他的肢体之间的关系做比较的。(Eph,4:15-16:以弗所书4:15-16:惟用爱心说诚实话,凡事长进,连于元首基督。全身都靠他联络得合式,百节各按各职,照着各体的功用彼此相助,便叫身体渐渐增长,在爱中建立自己。”) It is compared to the relation of the vine to the branches.与基督联合是与葡萄树和枝子之间的关系作比较的。(John 15,约翰福音第15章全章)

Hence we have analogy drawn from the various strata of being所以我们从各种不同的生存形态,看到一些的比较, ascending from the inanimate realm从没有生命的石头的层次,一直向上升,to the very life of the persons of the Godhead.一直升到神三位一体之间的生命。This should teach us a great principal.这应该教导我们一个很伟大的原则。It is obviously that we must not reduce the nature and the mode of union with Christ很明显的,我们不可以把与基督的联合的本质和形式把它降低,to the measure of the kind of union that exists between the chief corner stone and the other stones in the building,不可把它降低为房角石和其他的楼房里的石头之间的关系,not to the measure of the kind of union that exists between vine and branches,不会降低到葡萄树和枝子之间的关系,nor to that of the head and other members of the body,也不可以降低到一个人的头跟身体肢体之间的关系,nor even to that of husband and wife.也不可以把我们与基督的联合降低到丈夫与妻子联合。The mode, nature, and kind of union differ in the different cases.在每一种的情况中,那个联合的形式、本质和种类都不一样。There is similitude but not identity.他们有相似之处,但是他们不是等同的。他们不是一样的。
