Ill-Defined Apologetics缺乏正确定义的护教学
Keller’s method, like so many today, assumes that apologetics is the answer.凯勒的方法就好像今天很多人的一样,假设护教就是那个答案。 But the concept of apologetics that Keller and so many others employ, is not the Biblical one — 但是凯勒跟今天很多人所用的护教的概念并不是圣经的概念,the Biblical one is圣经的概念是 –being able to give a Biblical reason for the hope that is in you (1 Peter 3:15).圣经的概念是能够为了那个在我们里面的盼望给一个合乎圣经的缘由(彼前3:15)。 It is, rather, the false notion that Christians and the church must deal with man’s objections to Christianity so that he will believe. 但是凯勒的错误的观念乃是,基督徒跟教会必须要处理人对基督教反对的理由,好叫他们愿意相信。
This way of thinking makes man the authority. 这种的思想就让人作为权威。It puts puny, sinful man in judgment over the truth of the holy and all-wise God. 他把微小的罪人放在审判台来审判那位圣洁的、全智的上帝的真理。The fact is, God will only deal with man’s objections and doubts when he first bows the knee in repentance and faith. 事实是什么呢?除非人先跪下来悔改信靠神,神就不会处理人的怀疑还有反对的理由的。来11:1-3,6;诗34;1-4,8-9。
You will not find a true Christian on the face of this earth, who reads and studies the Word, who does not – if he is honest – admit that he has questions about the faith and even deep-seated objections to things that the Word of God plainly says. 全世界的基督徒-真的基督徒,读圣经的,研究圣经的,假如他是诚实的话,必定会承认他对他的信仰会有一些的问题,甚至乎圣经里清楚说的话,他都可能有一些深层的反对的理由的。Dealing with those doubts and objections is part of God’s sanctifying work 上帝使我们成圣的工作一部分就是要处理我们这些反对、怀疑的理由- the washing of water by the Word (Ephesians 5:26) as it is preached, read, and studied. 就是当上帝的话由教会来宣讲,由基督徒来研读来研究的时候,神的话就好像水洗净我们了(弗5:26)。

An Ironic Form of Easy-Believism 很讽刺地是一种让人太过容易相信的福音方法
Keller’s method is, despite all its emphasis on human effort, an ironic form of easybelievism: 虽然凯勒非常强调人的努力,但是他的传福音的方法很讽刺的是一种让人很容易就相信的一种的福音:If we can just somehow answer enough of sinful man’s objections, he will listen and believe. 假如我们用什么方法来回答罪人反对的一些的理由,如果回答了足够的一些的理由的话,他们就会听,就会相信了。But this denies the true nature of saving faith. 但这个就等于否定、否认使人得救的信心的本质。The one who true comes to God comes in “repentance from dead works” 真正来到神面前的人,是要悔改承认他的使他死的行为,悔改来到神的面前的- including the prideful exercise of his own sinful intellect要承认的罪就包括人是傲慢地使用他充满罪的理性 – and “faith toward God” 信靠神(Hebrews 6:1来6:1). This is a work of the Spirit of God. 这个是神的灵的工作。

Keller’s method denies the essential, indispensible, and sovereign work of the Holy Spirit in bringing the spiritually dead to life in Christ. 凯勒的方法就否定了圣灵的必须要有的本质上的主权的工作,带领那些死在罪中的人进入到基督进入、进入到生命。他否认圣灵的大能的工作。It is strange that this should be the thinking of a man who claims to be Reformed in his theology. 很奇怪的是,这位宣称是改革宗的凯勒会有这种的思想。
The Gospel is only “compelling” when God does the work.唯有当上帝动工的时候,福音才会有逼人的说服力的。 Jesus said that the Holy Spirit is the one who will “convict [literally, reprove or refute] the world of [literally, concerning] sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged” (John 16:8-11). 耶稣说:圣灵乃是那位要使世人扎心知罪,使人认识义,使人认识审判的,扎心知罪就是责备的意思或者是否决了对方的论调的意思;圣灵为罪作见证,因为他们不相信主耶稣;圣灵为义作见证,因为祂要回到父那里去,我们就不会再见到祂;祂为审判作见证,因为这个世界的统治者是受审判的。It was because of such a work of the Spirit that Paul could say this of the Thessalonian believers: 就是因为圣灵的大工,所以保罗会说他在帖撒罗尼迦前书第一章第二节到第五节的话:帖前1:2-5。

Keller’s Method Runs Counter to All Biblical Examples凯勒的方法与所有圣经传福音的方法都是背道而驰的
Keller’s method opposes the method and message we find by example throughout Scripture. 凯勒的方法是与圣经里的方法和信息背道而驰的。Let me mention just a few. 我提几个例子就够了。How did John the Baptist approach his hearers?施洗约翰是怎么样面对他的听众的呢?(约1:29)、(太3:2)
How did Jesus Himself approach even the most religious people of the time?
耶稣自己又怎么样面对当时最有宗教热忱的人呢?(约5:19-34。)What was Peter’s inspired message at Pentecost?彼得受圣灵的默示在五旬节所传讲的信息是什么呢?(徒2:22-24、36-39。)
Much is made of the alleged need to approach the “Jews” (religious people) and “Gentiles” (pagans) of our day with a different method and message. 很多人说,我们今天怎么样面对所谓犹太人(就是有宗教信仰的人)和怎么面对外邦人是需要用不同的方法、不同的信息的。But the Apostle Paul’s own Divinely-commissioned method is the same with both groups, 而上帝差遣使徒保罗所用的方法对两种人来说都是同样的方法,and utterly refutes this kind of thinking. 对凯勒这种思想是完全打倒的。Here is how Paul approached the Jews: 保罗怎么样面对犹太人呢?:(徒17:1-3;)And, here is how Paul describes his approach to the Gentiles: 保罗自己形容他怎么样面对外帮人的:(林前2:1-5)
Is there anything in these examples of “pulling off” a “quick” presentation that is attractive for its own sake? 这些的例子里面有没有任何的地方是快快地讲一讲福音,是很吸引人的,为了吸引人而快快讲呢?Is there anything of “connect[ing] the story of Jesus to the base-line cultural narratives”? 有没有人把耶稣的故事连接在文化的底线、文化的叙述呢?Is there any hint of concern that “people’s eyes will glaze over and they will become bored”? 有没有任何的圣经的人物会关心到人会眼睛就盯着你就会很闷呢?Any hint of first dealing with “defeater beliefs”? 有没有任何的例子暗示他们先处理了那些能够击败他人的信念呢?No. 没有任何的例子。There is immediate and direct proclamation of the truth of God in Christ, and trust in the Spirit to do His sovereign work. 圣经每一处都是直接地马上宣告上帝在基督里的真理,而且他们相信圣灵去做祂的主权的工作。

Keller’s Method Runs Counter to God’s Own Charge to Preachers 凯勒的方法是违背了神亲自向讲道者的劝勉的
Keller’s method opposes God’s own charge to preachers as recorded for us in Paul’s instructions to Timothy. 凯勒的方法就完全地违背了保罗对提摩太的教训里的上帝对我们传道者的吩咐。God did not call anyone to be a pastor of a church who is not a faithful preacher of the authentic Gospel and a sound expositor of the Word. 上帝没有呼召任何不忠心传讲真正福音的、不正确的解释神的话的人做教会的牧师In 2 Timothy chapter 4:1-5,提摩太后书4:1-5, the Apostle Paul challenges Timothy thus:保罗对提摩太说什么呢?Preach the Word of God and nothing else! 传神的道,只传神的道!Give them the Bread
of Life and nothing else!给他们吃生命之粮,只给他们生命之粮! Stand ready to do it at all times and in every kind of situation – “in season and out of season.” 在任何时间、任何情况,就是得时不得时都要准备好做。
The force of the original language is this: 原文的语气是这样:”Preach the Word when the Word is welcome in the ears of your hearers, yes; but also preach the Word when the Word is unwelcome in the ears of your hearers.” “是的,当你所传的道在你听众的耳中受欢迎的时候,你要传;但是当你传神的道在你听众耳中是不欢迎的时候,你还是要传。”
Christian preacher, the reception of the Word is not your responsibility. It is God’s. 基督徒讲道者,人怎么接受神的话,不是你的责任,是神的责任。Your job, always, is to preach the Word! Give the Bread of Life. 你的责任就是要传讲神的道,给人吃到生命之粮。Genuine Christian preaching is not about felt needs. 真正的基督教的讲道不是考虑人感觉到的自己的需要。It is not about sinful man’s comprehension of the world. 不是关于罪人的如何认识这个世界。It is not about building up the self-esteem of man in his sinful state.真正的传讲神的道,不是要建立在一个罪中的人的自我形像,或者自尊心。 Genuine Christian preaching is not driven by what people want to hear or don’t want to hear. 真正基督教的传讲神的道,不是由人想听什么、不想听什么来驱使的。
Genuine Christian preaching is Scripture-driven preaching.真正基督教的讲道是由圣经左右的驱使的讲道。 Preach the Word, young Timothy! 年轻的提摩太呀,传神的道!Preach that, and nothing else! 传神的道,只传神的道。Paul’s challenge to Timothy comes immediately after his great declaration about the
Word of God and preaching: 保罗是在很伟大地宣告圣经是神的话之后,来给提摩太这个的挑战:”All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” “圣经都是 神所默示的,于教训、督责、使人归正、教导人学义都是有益的,叫属 神的人得以完全,预备行各样的善事。”And then in the verses that follow, the Apostle Paul tells Timothy to “reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.”在提后3;16-17之后呢,保罗就吩咐提摩太要责备、要劝勉,用诸般的忍耐教导、劝勉。
The word translated “reprove” means to expose error. 责备这个字的意义就是要暴露人的错误。The word translated “rebuke” means to denounce error, to express strong disapproval of it. 另外一个字的意义就是要责备错误,要强烈地责备The word “exhort” means to earnestly beg and plead with people, to encourage them, to urge them in the right direction. 劝勉的意思就是要诚恳地与人哀求、劝勉、鼓励他们、劝他们回到正确的方向。”Reprove, rebuke, and exhort.” “要责备、要全面。”How? 如何?”With all long suffering and doctrine.” “要用诸般的忍耐跟教导来劝勉。”Do it with patience. 忍耐的教导。Do it without ceasing. 不停的教导。Do it unfailingly. 不可不教导。And do it with doctrine – the Word of God.要用神的话,用教义来教导。
Christian preacher, church of Jesus Christ, make sure your doctrine, your reproof, your correction, your instruction in righteousness, is the Word of God and not the word of man.基督徒的传道者,耶稣基督的教会你必须要确定你的教导、你的责备、你的使人归正、你的教导人学义,都是神的道,不是人的话。
Why is the preacher to do this?传道者为什么要这么做呢? Why is the church to do this? 为什么教会要这么做呢?Because, Paul says in verse 3, “the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine.”因为保罗在第3节(提后4:3节)说:“时候将到,他们会不想听纯正的道理的。” People won’t want to put up with it. 人不想听!They will want to hear what they want to hear. 他们想听的就是他们想要听的。They will want that which appeals to the natural man, 他们想要听那些对属血气的人有吸引力的东西,the man who cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God because the Spirit of God isn’t living in him.这些属血气的人就是不能领受神的灵的事情的人;因为神的灵并没有住在他们里面。 But the answer is not to descend to their level, 但是,答案不是说要降到他们这么低的层次,but to lift them up to Christ.乃是把他们提升上来到基督那里。
