我们前面说到上帝的恩典并不是没有智慧的,in our last section we saw that God’s grace was not without wisdom. God so graciously identified himself with his name with his people. 上帝莫大的恩典,用祂自己的名字来与祂的子民认同。That is covenant theology.这个是圣约神学。God made a covenant with his people and he even granted them his name as part of their name. 上帝与以色列立约,连祂的名字也给了以色列,作为以色列名字的一部分。
Now when Clowney writes Biblical theology, 当克罗尼写圣经神学的时候,or rathe when we dtudy the Bible, 当我们读圣经的时候,yes, we study the covenant in Old Testament. 是的,我们读到旧约里的圣约。But we must not forget man’s sin. 但是我们不能忘记人的罪。And so here Clowney brings in the matter of sin and disobedience. 所以克罗尼这里就把罪跟不顺服就带进来了。Iseral is now a fact defiled and blasphemed God’s name, 以色列事实上是玷污了上帝的名字,亵渎了上帝的名字。Did God fail in his purpose? 上帝有没有在祂的计划上失败的?No!He summoned distant nations and islands of the sea to listen to his call. 现在祂召唤远方的列国、海岛来听祂的召唤.
He has called from the womb true servant, 祂从母腹中呼召出一个真的祂的仆人,who is his salvation to the ends of the earth. 这个仆人就是上帝的救恩,或者说祂必做成上帝的救恩,直到地极。(Isa. 49:1《以赛亚书》四十九章第1节)This Servant is named of God (Isa. 49:1).这几个字,特别of那个字是非常难翻译的。This Servant is named of God 这个仆人是由上帝命名,为属于上帝的(Isa. 49:1《以赛亚书》四十九章第1节:
Listen to me, O coastlands, and give attention, you peoples from afar. 众海岛啊!你们要听我的话。远方的万族啊!你们要留心听。The LORD called me from the womb, 我在母胎的时候,耶和华就呼召了我;from the body of my mother he named my name. 我出母腹的时候,他就提了我的名。(以赛亚书49:1 新译本)
So God named the servant, the Messiah所以上帝为弥赛亚祂的仆人命名的。
He will be the true Israel; 祂必做真的以色列,[ let me add a note here, 我再加一点的注释: It means that what Israel is surposed to do, how Israel was surposed to live, the Messiah would do it, the Messiah will lead it out.就是说以色列应该如何做,以色列应该怎么生活,弥赛亚就做到,祂就活出来。] he will restore a remnant of the tribes of Jacob, 祂要复兴雅各众支派的余民,and be a light to the Gentiles. 更要做外邦人的光。
(Isa. 49:6《以赛亚书》四十九章第6节)
he says: “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; “你作我的仆人,使雅各众支派复兴,使以色列中得保全的归回,只是小事; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”我还要使你作列国的光,使我的救恩传到地极。”double calling, 双重的呼召, for Israel, for gentiles. 为了以色列,为了外邦人。
His name 祂的名is Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. 祂的名字是奇妙、策士、全能的上帝、永在的父、和平的君。 (Isa. 9:6以赛亚九章第6节)His name is Immanuel, God with us. 祂的名字是以马内利,上帝与我们同在。(Isa. 7:14,以赛亚七章14节).
God’s purpose to put his name on man in the calling of sonship is realized in Christ. 这句话要慢慢的来,仔细的翻译来解释: 上帝的计划是要把自己的名放在人的身上,呼召人做上帝的儿子,这个计划着基督里实现了。
Let us unpacked the sentence further: 我们再来解读这句话,for God man is his son, 对上帝来说人是神的儿子,Jesus Christ is his true son. 基督才是真的儿子。God gave men the staties privilege of sonship,上帝给人做儿子的名份、特权, even back in Adam.就算亚当也是如此。Noe God gave his Son the stage of sonship. 上帝也给祂爱子做儿子。Here we are not talking about the Son is the Son of the Father in eternity. 这里不是在讲圣子在永恒里是父所生的爱子。不是讲这个。Not that! But rather, the Messiah God had chosen and sent. 乃是说上帝差遣的弥赛亚,上帝拣选弥赛亚。One of his name is Son. 弥赛亚很多的名字之一是儿子。So Jesus is the Son Messiah 耶稣是儿子弥赛亚。Now God’s planed that Adam be the son, Adam ruined it. 上帝的计划是亚当要做神的儿子,亚当破坏了这个计划。But Jesus put it back together. 耶稣恢复了这个计划。Jesus is the true Son of God, not only in eternity, but through his obedience to his Father. 基督是神的儿子不单单是因为祂永恒里是父的爱子,乃是说透过祂的顺服,祂成就了实现了儿子的名份。
His name is Jesus (Joshua), 祂的名字是耶稣(就是约书亚),for he shall save his people from their sins. 因为祂必定拯救自己的子民脱离他们的罪。God’s name is in him, 上帝的名字在祂身上(这个意思就是说,耶稣就是上帝-耶和华必定拯救。Because his name–Jesus means Johova will save, so God’s name is in Jesus’s name.所以耶稣基督的名字里面包括了上帝的名字。)and his calling to sonship glorifies his Father’s name 耶稣被呼召做上帝的儿子,这呼召是要归荣耀给祂的父的名(Matt. 17:5; John 12:28马太十七章第5节,约翰是二章28节)
So we see Jesus his name, his calling to be son and the consequence glorifies his Father’s name. 我们看到耶稣的名字里面有上帝:耶和华,耶稣呼召做儿子,结果就是归荣耀给父。At last God’s name is vindicated as El-Elohe-Israel.最后上帝的名字被证实了,被所谓平反了,祂真的是上帝,以色列的上帝。God’s name is revealed in his Son.上帝的名字,借着祂的儿子,在祂儿子的身上被显明了,被启示了。We know God as the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ 我们现在认识上帝,是我们主耶稣基督的(Rom. 15:6罗15:6)。Blasphemy人的亵渎Blasphemy took the name of Jesus, nailed it above him on the cross, and mocked the son of God.人的亵渎把耶稣的名字钉在十字架上,在祂头上藐视了上帝的儿子。
But God’s suffering Servant 但是上帝受苦的仆人,vanquished even the blasphemy of Calvary:连带伽略山上的亵渎都胜过了:(MATT. 27:42太27:42,藐视的话,)“He saved others, himself he cannot save” 祂救别人,但是自己都不能救。By his death Jesus Christ wrenched that jeer from his mockers and made it gospel truth. 但是耶稣基督借着祂的死把讥笑从藐视祂的人中夺回,使这个讥笑成为福音的真理。
Because he would put the holy name of his Father upon sinners, he must bear their sins in his own body on the tree. 因为耶稣要把祂父的圣名放到罪人身上,因此必须在十字架上,亲身的担当他们的罪。Your calling to sonship, to bear God’s name, to be a holy one, is your calling in Christ.你的呼召就是做上帝儿子的名份,身上带着上帝的名字做个圣洁的人,这个呼召是在基督里面的你的呼召。The time foretold by the prophet has come to pass.先知们预言的日子已经来到了。A man again may say, “I am Jehovah’s.”现在一个人再一次能够说“我是属耶和华的。”
He may write on his hand, “Unto Jehovah” and surname himself with the name of Israel (Isa. 44:5). 他现在能够再一次把“归于耶和华为圣”写在自己手上,也用以色列作为自己的姓氏(赛44:5)The wall dividing Jew and Gentile is broken down, 把以色列和外邦人隔绝的墙已经破除了,for there is but One who is the true son of Abraham.因为唯有一位是亚伯拉罕的真儿子、真以撒、真后裔。
我们来读一些的经文,let us look at some verses of the New Testament, 都在《加拉太书》第三章,in Galatians chapter 3: first 16 and then 29, 加拉太三章16节,然后第29节。First Verse 16: 16节:
Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ. 加拉太三章16节: 那些应许本来是给亚伯拉罕和他的后裔的。上帝并没有说“给众后裔”,好像指着多数;而是说“给你的一个后裔”,指着一个,就是基督。
So Jesus Christ is the one true seed. 耶稣基督是那个真的后裔。
Now verse 29: 现在第29节And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise. 如果你们属于基督,就是亚伯拉罕的后裔,是按照应许承受产业的了。So we Christians are the fulfilment of the meaning of Hebrew Israel. 所以今天我们基督徒就已经实现了旧约以色列民他们身份的意义。
The wall dividing Jew and Gentile is broken down,以色列民跟外邦人之间墙已经毁, for there is but One who is the true son of Abraham. 因为只有一位是亚伯拉罕真的儿子、真的后裔。
Only in him can anyone be an Israelite indeed, 唯有在祂(基督)里面,人才能成为真以色列人,and in him anyone can be an Israelite indeed. 而在基督里任何人都可以成为真以色列人。(By believing in Him of course. 就是藉着相信耶稣基督。)
The calling of God to bear his name had become the calling of Christ to bear his name. 现在上帝呼召人要身上带着上帝的名字,这个呼召成为现在人身上带着耶稣基督的名字,是这个的呼召了。His disciples, 耶稣的门徒们,filled 8 with the Spirit after his resurrection, 在基督复活之后他们被圣灵充满,rejoiced when they were counted worthy to suffer shame (or mockery)for that name. 他们现在算自己配为耶稣的名字受羞辱为荣耀。
记得吗?Remember? At the cross they jeered Jesus his name. 在十字架面前人讥笑耶稣的名字。Blasphemed his name. 亵渎他。Now that the disciples counted their blasphemyas their glory. 现在使徒们认为,这种的讥笑是他们的尊荣。
[Acts 5:41, 徒5:41:Then they left the presence of the council,rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name. 使徒欢欢喜喜从公议会里出来,因为他们算是配得为主的名受辱。]Your name is the high calling of God in Christ Jesus . 基督徒你的名字是上帝在基督耶稣里赐给你的,崇高的尊荣的呼召。(Phil. 3:14,腓3:14)

You are accepted in God’s beloved Son; 你在上帝的爱子里蒙接纳了 (Eph. 1:6,弗1:6);you are made holy in Christ, 你在基督里已经被造成,成为圣洁,called to be a saint with all that call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place 被呼召做圣徒,与所有在各处呼求主耶稣基督的名的人一同蒙召(I Cor. 1:2,林前1:2)So we have gone through this very important section, “you are called by God’s name.”所以我们现在已经读完这段,我们是按着上帝的名被召的。
Let us review one more time. 我们再来读一次。Section A: Called by God’s name. A部分: 按照上帝的名字被召。Every Christian has had God’s name both at baptism and at the benediction.基督徒受洗的时候,被祝福的时候都领受了神的名字。God’s name is on, on the Old Testament priests, turban 上帝的名字是在旧约祭司的头上的“Holiness Unto the Lord.” “Holiness Unto Jehovah.” “归耶和华为圣”。One day in heaven, we will also bear Cjrist’s name and the Father’s name. 有一天我们到天上的时候,也会在额头上刻上名字和父神的名字。
That is what Salvation means, 一个人得救就是这个意思,God writes his name on your head, your hand, your heart.上帝把祂的名字刻在你头上、手上、心里面。He makes you belong to him, 上帝使你属于祂,and he makes his name your name. 祂就让祂的名字成为你的名字。This kind of naming calling这种命名的呼召,comes with power. 是大能临到的。
It gives life. 是使你得到生命的。It is a calling in Christ, 是在基督里的,life giving calling.一个赐你生命的呼召, just like Jesus calls Zaccheus and Lazarus. 就好像耶稣呼召拉撒路和撒该一样。That is Christ call to you. 这个是基督向你的呼召。
You need to come to Christ and be saved. 你需要来到基督的面前,蒙得救。Because only if you have committed yourself to God for his safe keeping, God will commit his Gospelto you. 因为唯有你首先把自己交托给神,得救了,上帝才会交托福音给你。God’s calling in Christ to you spends from eternity past to eternity future. 上帝在基督里给你的呼召是从过去的永恒一直延伸到将来的永恒的。
God’s call of grace gives life, is the source of our salvation. 上帝的恩典的呼召给你生命,是你的救恩的来源。God’s call to glory shapes your life is goal of his salvation. 而上帝要你进入到荣耀的呼召是塑造你的生命的,这个是我们得救的目的。被上帝所用.
So the rainbow of your calling is the rainbow of God Creator’s rainbow. 你的呼召这个彩虹,是上帝创造主的彩虹, not the rainbow after Noah’s flood. 不是挪亚洪水之后的彩虹,greater than that更伟大,shining from the dawn before all dawns. 是从所有晨曦之前的晨曦所照耀出来的。
Not only that God gives us his name, 上帝不仅仅给我们祂的名字,he calles us to be holy.祂呼召我们要成为圣洁。 Many men in the Old Testament bear God’s in their names.旧约里很多人的名字里面都有耶和华的名字:“Elijah”以利亚、Joshua约书亚、Isaiah以赛亚等等。
So when people disobay God’s name, they dishonor God’s name. 所以当人不顺从上帝的时候,他就羞辱了上帝的名字。But if they have great zeal for the Lord, 但是假如他们为上帝大发热心的话,then they honor God’s name with their lives. 他们就借他们的生命来尊荣耶和华.
When we read this first time, we didn’t go through Psalm 69上次我们没有读《诗篇》第六十九篇,the psalmist says, he is zealous for God’s name. 他为上帝的名字大发热心。Psalm 69:9《诗篇》六十九篇第9节:For zeal for your house has consumed me, 因我为你的殿,心中迫切如同火烧;and the reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.辱骂你的人的辱骂,都落在我身上。
So when the person who is zealous for God, when people dishonor God, they feel be dishonors as well. 所以为上帝大发热心的人,当别人羞辱上帝的时候,他们也感受得到羞辱。And so that how he prays in Psalm 69.所以诗人就是这样子在《诗篇》六十九篇祷告。Now Jesus is the true fulfilment of this kind of zeal for God. 耶稣就是这种为上帝大发热心的成全跟应验。
John 2.《约翰福音》第二章,when Jesus chased the money changer out from the temple,当耶稣把那些在圣殿里面做买卖的人赶走的时候,the deciples remembered Psalm 69门徒说想起《诗篇》第六十九篇。John 2:17《约翰福音》第二章17节: His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.” 他的门徒就想起经上记着:“我为你的殿心中迫切,如同火烧。”The word “zeal” zealous and jealous come to the same root. 大发热心跟妒忌、忌邪是来自同一个字根的。
Let’s move on with section A. 我们在A部分继续的温习:God’s grace goes beyong that.上帝的恩典不止这个。Not only he put his name on his people, 上帝不单单把祂的名字放在祂的子民的名字身上,he identified himself with his people.上帝与祂的子民认同。所以外邦人看到上帝是以色列的上帝。So the gentile recognized Jehovah as the God ,God of Israel. Was that wise? 那个智慧吗?Because Israel defiles God’s name, the gentiles blaspheme his name. 以色列玷污上帝的名字,外邦人亵渎耶和华的名字。No, God was not unwise. 上帝不是不智慧的。Because what Israel failed to do, Jesus the Messiah did. 因为以色列所没有做到的,耶稣弥赛亚做到了。He is named by God, 祂是耶和华所命名的,he came to restore Israel, 祂来恢复、复兴以色列,so they would not blaspheme anymore, 好叫他们不再亵渎,but bring God honor,来尊荣上帝; and even gentiles who blspheme God’s name, Jesus shall be light for them.连外邦人,就是那些亵渎耶和华的外邦人,弥赛亚要做他们的光。He will be their light, he is Immanuel. 祂是以马内利,是外邦人的光。
Adam, Abraham, Israel were called to be God’s sons. 亚当、亚伯拉罕、以色列民是蒙呼召要做上帝儿子的。And if sons, then holy. 既然是做神的儿子,就要圣洁。They all failed.他们都失败了。So God sent Jesus, His Son,to be the Son,所以上帝差遣耶稣基督祂的爱子作为那个儿子,the Son Messiah 神的儿子弥赛亚。Adam, Abraham, Isaac,Israel was surposed to be the Messiah was. 亚当、亚伯拉罕、以撒、以色列应当所是的,弥赛亚都是。
You can look at Unfolding Mistery on the chapter about Adam and Seth. 你可以去读《揭开奥秘》关于亚当和赛特的那部分。
So Jesus came to be Son, 耶稣来要做儿子弥赛亚, Son Messiah. This way, Jesus gloryfied the Father. 这样子,耶稣基督荣耀父上帝。
Yes, the Son is the servant, 耶稣是儿子,祂是仆人,He endured the blasphemy on Golgotha, 祂在各各他山上,忍受了亵渎。But he not only endured the blasphemy, he conquered that blasphemy. 但耶稣祂不单单忍受亵渎,祂胜过了这个亵渎。So when he raisen again, 所以因祂复活的时候,and ascended to heaven并且升天,the Holy Spirit filled the apostles. 圣灵充满了使徒们。So that they counted it an honor to endure mockery for Jesus’ name. 因此他们以忍受别人的羞辱、别人的亵渎为他们的荣耀。Now we, all Christians, can say I am Jehovah’s. 现在所有我们基督徒都可以说我是属耶和华的。
The wall dividing Jew and Gentile is broken down, 那个隔开犹太人跟外邦人之间的墙已经破除了。Anyone can be an Israelite now. 任何人都可以做以色列人。True Israel. 真以色列人。Jesus Christ is the only way. 耶稣基督是唯一的道路。Only in him, can any one be a true Israelite . 唯有在祂里面才能做真以色列人.Now Israel was called to bear God’s name, we are now called to bear Christ’s name. 以色列蒙召是要身上带着耶和华的名字,我们现在基督的呼召临到我们,我们身上带着耶稣基督的名字。
That is a brief review of section A. 这个是对A部分的一个简单的温习。
Now let very quickly glance at section B. 现在我们很快来看一看B部分.
[B] Called by Your Name按照你的名字被召
Not only are We called by God’s name , we are called by our name. 我们不单单是根据上帝的名字蒙召,我们也更是按照我们自己的名字蒙召的。
Let us look at some verses: 我们来看一些的经文:
Isaiah 43:1赛43:1What God says to Israel, God says to Messiah, and God says to us Christians. 上帝对以色列讲的,也是对弥赛亚讲的,因此也是对我们基督徒讲的:But now thus says the LORD , he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.(Isaiah43:1 ESV)但是,雅各啊!那创造你的耶和华,以色列啊!那塑造你的主,现在这样说:“不要惧怕,因为我救赎了你;我按着你的名呼召了你;你是属我的。(以赛亚书43:1 新译本)
God once again called His people Israel by name, 现在上帝再一次按名字呼召祂的子民以色列,This Israel is every one who believes in Jesus Christ. 这个以色列就是所有相信耶稣基督的人。(Isaiah 43:1赛43:1)
And we also know in verses 6 and 7, God also says that God calls them by his name. 我们也知道在同一章四十三章第6第7节,上帝说按照祂的名字被召。 So Isaiah 43: 1,6-7所以赛43:1,6-7,我们按自己的名字被召,we are called by our name, we are called by God’s name. 也是按照神的名字被召的。
Isaiah 62:2赛62:2The nations shall see your righteousness, and all the kings your glory, and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will give.(Isaiah62:2 ESV)列国必看见你的公义,众王必看见你的荣耀;人要给你起一个新名,(或者说:你必按一个新的名字被称呼)是耶和华亲口指定的。(以赛亚书62:2 新译本)God will give Israel a new name.上帝要给以色列人一个新的名字。
Psalm 87:4-5现在我们来看诗87:4-5: even the gentiles God calls them by name.甚至乎外邦人,上帝也是按照他们的名字呼召他们的。Psalm 87:4《诗篇》87:4-5:Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush — “This one was born there,” they say.And of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”; for the Most High himself will establish her. (Psalms87:4-5 ESV)《诗篇》87:4-5“在认识我的人中,我提到拉哈伯和巴比伦,看哪!还有非利士、推罗和古实,我说:‘这一个是生在那里的。’”论到锡安,必有话说:“这一个、那一个都是生在锡安的。”(诗篇87:4-5 新译本)The gentiles are now condisered to be natural born Israelite. 现在外邦人都被算在天生在以色列里的以色列人的。
So we will, next time, look at how God calls us by our name. 下一次我们来看我们是怎么按照上帝的名字被呼召的。
