上一章我们看到克罗尼做了一句非常重要的宣称,上帝赐恩赐的人就同时已经呼召了他,有了恩赐的就等于被神呼召的,不论是做牧师传道的或者做其他的工作的。克罗尼继续讲平信徒的恩赐。

The man with the cheerfulness of the Spirit must visit the afflicted; 若有圣灵所赐的唤起快乐的恩赐,就必须去探访那些在苦难中的人;the man with executive gifts 若有执行恩赐的人must advance the order of the church; 就必须协助维持教会的秩序;the man who is qualified of God to be a minister and teacher in the church 那么假如神给他有资格做教会里的牧者跟教师的话must labor in the Word 必须在传道教导上劳苦and feed the flock of Christ 喂养基督的羊群。(罗12:6-8). The fruitfulness of the greater gifts makes their unwearied use the more necessary.这些更大的恩赐若是结出果子来,那么就更加必须的、不厌倦的劳苦,用这些恩赐。 The preacher must be urgent in season and out of season (Il Tim. 4:2)讲道者不论得时不得时,《提后》4章2节都必须带着迫切的心去传讲。 The zeal of God’s house consumes him 心里面必须为上帝的殿大发热心的。(我们来看《诗篇》69:9,我们先读和合本:因我为你的殿心里焦急,如同火烧,并且辱骂你人的辱骂都落在我身上。新译本:因我为你的殿,心中迫切如同火烧;zeal for God’ house,为上帝的殿大发热心,参考耶稣,在《约翰福音》第二章17节的心情。John 2:17). His discipline as a man of God is severe. 他是属上帝的人,必须经过严谨的管教或者操练。He is a soldier on service 他是服役的精兵 (提后2:4)who cannot be entangled with the affairs of this life.不可以有世俗今生的事物缠绕在身。

The experience of a man with the gifts for preaching is like that of the prophets of old. 一个有讲道恩赐的人的经验,就像旧约的先知的经验。God’s Word becomes fire in his bones 上帝的话在他们里面成为骨中的火。(Jer. 20:9耶20:9我觉得这个是这本书里面最重要的经文之一,也是我最喜爱的。耶利米差不多要辞职不干不要做先知了。“我若说:我不再提耶和华,也不再奉他的名讲论,我便心里觉得似乎有烧着的火闭塞在我骨中,我就含忍不住,不能自禁。新译本:如果我说:“我不再提起他,也不再奉他的名说话”,他的话就像火在我心中焚烧,被困在我的骨里;我不能再抑制,实在不能了。 耶利米书20:9). (阿摩司书3:8)”The lion hath roared; who will not fear? The Lord Jehovah hath spoken; who can but prophesy?” (Amos 3:8.) 阿摩司三章8节:狮子吼叫谁不惧怕呢?主耶和华发令,谁能不说预言呢?(阿摩司书 3:8 和合本) 狮子吼叫,谁不惧怕呢?主耶和华发令,谁不能说预言呢?新译本:狮子吼叫,谁不害怕;主耶和华宣告,谁敢不代他传话?

Men with the gifts for the ministry have the capacity for success in other fields,有传道恩赐的人可能在其他行业里可以做得非常的成功,but they are not free to choose them.但他们没有自由选择这些行业。(下面克罗尼要跟我们讲所谓世俗的工作文化使命和大使命的关系) God’s first command still stands: 上帝起初的一个命令,今天仍然有效:man is to replenish the earth and subdue it;人必须生养众多,遍满全地,管理大地; but the Great Commission takes priority over it.但是大使命有优先权,高过文化使命。 (参考我们很熟悉的经文,创世记第一章27 28节,创世记第二章15节,马太福音28章18~20节。)The Christian is a citizen of heaven,given the Word of life in a world of death.基督徒是天国的子民,在这个必死的世界里,他领受了生命之道。(腓2:15;3:21) Peter left his fishing boat,彼得放弃了他的渔船,Matthew left the tax business,马太离开他税务的行业,and you must leave any calling that keeps you from exercising the gifts of the herald of Christ,if these gifts are yours.假如你有做基督的先锋,发言人的恩赐,也必须离开任何拦阻你使用这些恩赐的行业。(路5:1-11;彼前5:27-28.)Martin Luther,马丁路德,like many ministers of the gospel,might have had a brilliant career in law,就像很多牧师一样,可能会成为一个非常出色的律师,but the fire in his bones prevented it.但他骨中的火拦阻了他成为律师。

A young man was driving down a forest road in Georgia. 美国东南部乔治亚州有位青年人在森林里驾驶他的汽车。This woodland,hundreds of thousands of acres of it,was under his supervision. 他是这里有10多万亩地的监管人。His rapid rise in a large paper company had carried him from the work of a forester to a responsible position in management. 他在造纸公司步步高升,从园林工人升到高级的管理职员了。He was on his way from his new dream home to a company meeting.他正在从自己的家一个梦想的洋房开车到公司去开会。 He was thinking.他在沉思。 With a sense of shock it came to him what he was thinking about. 他发觉自己正在想什么–哇!令他非常的惊讶。Not the production of pulpwood; 他不是在想纸浆的生产;not the problems of management. 不是在考虑管理的问题。He was thinking about Robert,他在想想到罗伯,a forester and fire-control man in his employ. 那位,园林工人,火灾控制专员。Was Robert a Christian? 罗伯特是基督徒吗?How could he reach him with the gospel? 如何向他传福音呢?The young manager was alarmed.这位年轻的管理员经理呢很警觉的在质问。What was happening to him since his conversion?他心里面在想什么?自从得救以来,心中的状态是如何的呢? His fears were well-grounded. 他这些的忧虑是大有原因的。Today he is a minister of the gospel. 今天他是传道人,是牧师了。

When he resigned his position to enter a seminary,当他辞职要进神学院的时候,higher management could scarcely believe his professed reason was his real one. 上司不能置信,他所说的是真的辞职的理由。How could a man turn his back on such success to become a preacher? 一个人怎么可能把这个成功的事业抛在脑后去当传道去了?The lion had roared.狮子吼叫了。

Most often the presence of such gifts of the Spirit creates a desire for their exercise. 很多时候有了这些圣灵的恩赐就会产生一种愿望,渴望使用这些恩赐。By them a man is drawn to the Word,to Christ,to men. 这些恩赐催逼的人更亲近神的话,更亲近基督,更亲近别人。For this reason因此 a deep and sincere desire to enter the ministry is the commonest evidence of the Lord’s calling. 心里面深处若有诚恳的愿望,要做传道人,这个是主的呼召的普遍的证据。It is no sure criterion,however,for gifts and desire are not always joined.但是这个不是完全准确的准则,由于一个人的恩赐和做传道人的愿望不一定是并存的。

A man may seek to quench the Spirit,有些人试图消灭圣灵的感动的,refusing to recognize or use the gifts he has received from God 拒绝承认,也拒绝使用从上帝领受的恩赐。(圣经告诉我们不可消灭圣灵的感动。)(帖前5:19). Samson was endued with strength for the deliverance of Israel,参孙领受的力量是要搭救以色列民,but he squandered his gifts 但是他糟蹋了他的恩赐and fought the Philistines only in the petty intrigues of his personal pleasure-seeking.只是为了维持不道德的情欲与非利士人作战。 By God’s grace his tragedy ended in triumph,因为神的恩典,他的悲剧转为胜利,but Samson’s desire to serve God did not match his gifts for service. 但是参孙侍奉神的心愿远不如他所领受的恩赐那么大。

Paul had to urge Timothy not to neglect the gift that he had but to stir it up 保罗必须催逼提摩太,不可以忽略他所具备的恩赐,必须挑旺他们。(我们来看一些的经文提前4:14 I Tim. 4:14; 你不要轻忽所得的恩赐,就是从前藉着预言、在众长老按手的时候赐给你的。II Tim. 1:6提后1:6为此我提醒你,使你将 神藉我按手所给你的恩赐,再如火挑旺起来。stir up,挑旺。)

Without exercise spiritual strength declines rapidly.若不操练恩赐,属灵的能力很快就衰弱了。Timothy must be diligent both in godly living and in vigorous teaching 提摩太必须勤奋地过敬虔的生活,并且竭力教导上帝的话。(I Tim. 4:12-16提前4:12-16不可叫人小看你年轻,总要在言语、行为、爱心、信心、清洁上,都作信徒的榜样。你要以宣读、劝勉、教导为念,直等到我来。你不要轻忽所得的恩赐,就是从前藉着预言、在众长老按手的时候赐给你的。这些事你要殷勤去作,并要在此专心,使众人看出你的长进来。你要谨慎自己和自己的教训,要在这些事上恒心。因为这样行,又能救自己,又能救听你的人。). He must do the work of an evangelist and fulfill his ministry 提摩太务必做传道的事工,成全他所领受的事工(II Tim. 4:5提后4:5你却要凡事谨慎,忍受苦难,作传道的工夫,尽你的职分。).

Apart from the commitment of faith and a life of obedience no man can judge of his calling to the ministry.若没有信心的委身和顺服的生活,没有人能够判断自己做传道的呼召的。To learn how you may serve Christ tomorrow,you must serve him today. 若要学习要知道明天如何服侍基督,你必须今天就服侍他。Stir up your gifts and Christ’s call will be made clear.你必须挑旺你的恩赐,基督的呼召就会显明的。

As gifts are used,当恩赐被使用的时候,the desire to serve Christ with them will increase. 心里面愿意用这恩赐来服侍基督的心愿就会更加的加强的。(下面是个例子。)A young deacon was angry when his pastor asked him to speak at a farm where alcoholics were being rehabilitated. 一位年轻的执事被牧师委派去酗酒者康复营(就是福音戒毒场所)去做讲员。He refused; 他拒绝了;but when he saw tears in his minister’s eyes he was ashamed and accepted. 但是他看到牧师的眼泪的时候,感觉到羞耻,他就答应了。After he had spoken当他讲完道之后,he learned of two men who had been deeply moved by his talk. 两个人被他的信息大大的感动。。The experience was a milestone in his call to the ministry. 那次的经验成为他蒙召做传道的一个里程碑。

On the other hand,另一方面,a desire to serve Christ in the ministry may become intense before there is evidence of the necessary gifts. 还没有必须的恩赐的证据之前,有些人愿意服侍基督的心就已经很强了。When Paul discusses the question of spiritual gifts with the church at Corinth,he tells them to desire earnestly the greater gifts 当保罗与哥林多教会讨论属灵恩赐的问题的时候,他吩咐他们要羡慕那些更大的恩赐(林前. 12:31). A man must think soberly in judging the gifts he has,but he may pray fervently in seeking the gifts he lacks.人必须判断自己的恩赐看得合乎中道,但他大可以大发热心祷告,祈求目前所没有的恩赐。 If his desire is pure,假如他心若纯正,he may claim God’s promise for greater gifts. 有这种愿望的人可以抓住神的应许求更大的恩赐。Does he lack wisdom? 他缺乏智慧吗?Let him ask of God 要向上帝求(雅各书 1:5). Does he need boldness? 他需要放胆传道的勇气吗?So did the apostles,使徒们也需要啊,and God gave it to them in answer to prayer上帝应允他们的祷告,把勇气赐给他们的 (徒 4:29-31)。Even Paul sought the prayers of the church that bold utterance should be given to him 连保罗也要求教会为他祷告,好叫他能开口放胆传道(弗. 6:19“也为我祈求,使我得着口才能以放胆开口讲明福音的奥秘,新译本:可以坦然无惧地讲明福音的奥秘.”). All the gifts of the Spirit are given through His presence who is giver and gift,所有圣灵的恩赐都是因他临在得赐下的,圣灵自己就是这个恩赐,他也是诸般恩赐的赐予者giver and gift,and Christ has taught us that our heavenly Father will give the Holy Spirit to those that ask him 基督也教导过我们说我们的天父是太愿意对那些祈求圣灵的人,赐给他们圣灵的(Luke11:13路11:13你们虽然不好,尚且知道拿好东西给儿女,何况天父岂不更将圣灵给求祂的人吗?). If you yearn to serve Christ in the gospel ministry,你假如渴望再传达事工上服侍基督,that desire is surely a calling to prayer for the Spirit; 这种的心愿肯定是一个呼召,呼召你要去求主赐下圣灵;likely it is also a foretaste and earnest of greater gifts in store.这最可能也是将来预备要给你的次的预尝和初熟的果子。

The buying-up of opportunities that shapes all Christian service has peculiar importance in the case of a man called to the gospel ministry.抓住所有塑造基督徒侍奉的机会,抓住这些机会,救赎这些光阴,对蒙召传道的人至为重要的。 Since your calling is determined at last by your gifts,因为你的呼召致终是由你的恩赐所决定,you prove your calling as you improve your gifts.你必须培养、锻炼、发展你的恩赐,这样子来证明你的呼召。 No player is called to a spot on a major league team who has not proved himself in the minors.一个在出名的大球队打垒球的健将,肯定先是那个小的球队里面经过考验的。 God’s call to service normally comes in service.上帝呼召一个人去服侍祂,一般都是在他服侍的时候,在他服侍的光景里的。Begin with prayer.你要以祷告做开始。 Unless your service is a living sacrifice,you cannot please God.因为你的服侍只要不是一个活祭献给上帝就不可能讨神的喜悦的。 But don’t stop with prayer. 但是不可以仅仅的祷告。Your calling will be clear as God’s blessing crowns your words and deeds for him. 当上帝祝福给你的言传跟身传的时候,你的呼召就会显明了.

If we may keep the baseball metaphor,the spring training camp has its place in the discovery of pros. (再用棒球的比喻)春天的训练营,在发现健将是至为重要的。(下面是进神学院的问题。The question of seminary.)Seminary is for men who are seriously considering the ministry; 神学院是为那些认真考虑传道事工的人而设的; it is a place where a man may test his gifts and calling in the service of the Word. 人在神学院里可以考验自己的恩赐,查验传道的呼召.It is often difficult for a man to be assured of his calling before the seminary experience. 很多时候很难再进神学院之前确定自己的呼召。Has he the gifts of insight into Scripture? 他有对圣经的洞见见识的恩赐吗?Can he expound the word fruitfully? 他能够在解释圣经上能多结果子吗?The seminary classroom and study神学院的课室和个人的学习 help to supply answers to such questions. 都能够帮助我们提供答案。T

he academic disciplines of theological study are no more remote from pastoral experience than the drills of the training camp from big league competition. 知识上的学习并不从牧养的经验隔离的,就等于春天的棒球训练营并不与大球队的棒球赛事隔离。For the man in doubt as to whether he has the teaching gift,人若怀疑自己有没有教导的恩赐,the seminary situation may bring grateful understanding as he grows in the Word of God. 神学院的经验能够使他在上帝的话上成长,因着明白上帝的话而感恩。Practical service,too,can be joined with learning. 实习也能够与知知识的学习连接。Summer church work,暑期在教会里面的工作,week-end opportunities,周末在教会的服事,even casual encounters of personal counseling and witness 还有非正式的个人的辅导或者传福音的机会can be prepared for and evaluated in the light of careful study of the Scriptures. 都可以好好的事先准备,事后检讨,这些都要从谨慎研究圣经做出发点。Uncertainty about a call to the ministry may indicate with certainty a call to theological training. 若有人对所传道的呼召不确定,可能也是确实指向需要接受神学装备的。Even when God does not call a man to pastoral work,就算上帝没有呼召一个人做牧师,he often leads through seminary study to other ministries of teaching and to informed leadership in the work of the church. 上帝也往往借助神学院的学习,引导这个人进入到其他的教导事工或者教会里的非正式的,不是带职份的领导的事工。

Relating our gifts and our calling in consecration and wisdom is the course that Christ has laid down for his servants. 基督为祂仆人所所设定的道路就是借着全人的奉献和用属灵的智慧来把自己的恩赐跟呼召连接起来。Sober thought,谨慎的思考,prayerful gauging of the gifts we have received,以祷告的心衡量我们领受的恩赐,enables us to perceive the scope and kind of ministry that is set before us. 能使我们查看摆在我们前面的事工的类型和范围。But the steward of Christ may ever seek greater gifts但是基督的好管家可以常常祈求更大的恩赐 and pray for more power of the Spirit. 也求圣灵赐下更大的能力。In the zeal that redeems daily opportunities he brings these gifts to the proof当他的热心抓住每天的机会的时候,就能够证实这些恩赐 and confesses the grace of Christ who has “wrought effectually” in him for the proclamation of the gospel. 也见证基督的恩典,因为基督在他生命中大大的大能的运行,使福音传扬出去。
