我们继续讲传道人、教会，蒙召的人和教会之间，是要彼此同工来发现来查验主的呼召的。
第一方面的错误是教会过分的官僚，或者是宣教差会过分的官僚。
The church that seeks in advance the pledge of a missionary candidate to go wherever the board may send him and to do whatever the board may assign is guilty of at least a bureaucratic oversimplification of Christ’s calling. 假如教会或者差会事先要求宣教士签约，愿意去差会派他去的任何的工场，或者做差会要他做任何的工作，至少犯了一项的错误，这种的教会或者差会用官僚的制度把基督的呼召简化了，限制了。On the other hand，另一方面，the candidate who seeks with agonizing earnestness to discover in secret prayer the exact place to which the Lord would have him go may be isolating himself from the appointed means of discovering that place. 假如一个候任的宣教士，只是在世人的祷告里面恳切祈求上帝指示，要他去的工场只是这样做的话，又可能和上帝所指定要用来显示那个工场的方法，跟那个方法隔绝了，不能只是祷告，不理差会跟教会。教会跟差会也不可以绝对的决定工人的工场。回答这个只是靠私私人祷告的这个人。He cannot ignore the counsel of his Christian brothers: 这个候任的宣教士不可以忽略他的主内弟兄姐妹的劝告的：where does the church find the greatest need for a man of his evident gifts?教会认为是什么地方最需要这个弟兄已经显明的恩赐呢？不可以忽略教会的劝告。
Christ’s calling draws us to our brethren as well as to our Saviour. 基督的呼召不仅仅吸引我们亲近祂，也把我们和我们的弟兄拉近的。We are to exercise our calling in the fellowship of the church; we must find it there too. 我们必须要在教会的团契相交生活中活出操练我们的呼召，也必须在教会的团契生活中寻求我们的呼召。Take the towel and basin and discover your calling at your brother’s feet; 拿起耶稣基督的毛巾和水桶去洗脚，服侍弟兄姊妹，用这个服侍的心在你的弟兄们的脚前来发现你的呼召吧；go with him to visit the prisoner 和他同去探访监狱被囚的，and find your calling at his side. 和他并肩服侍这样来找到你的呼召。You may be convinced of your calling to the ministry long before others mark your gifts，可能你在别人认出你的恩赐之前老早就确知你的呼召，but if you are diligent in the fellowship of the gospel 但是假如你在团契相交中勤奋的服侍，your profiting will appear to all; 你所结的果子对别人带来的益处必然在个人面前显明；Christ’s calling will be acknowledged by Christ’s church. 基督的呼召必然被基督的教会所承认。Or it may be或者另外一个可能，that your first inkling of the call of Christ came from the lips of a fellow Christian who saw the evidences of the Lord’s blessing on your life. 或者你最初看到主耶稣的呼召是透过主内的弟兄，他看到主怎么样赐福给你的生命。Whether your calling was first apparent to you or to your brethren is not of decisive importance. 你的呼召无论是先向你显明，或者先向你的弟兄们显明，都不是最重要的事。
Christ’s gospel is preached today by hundreds who yearned for the ministry from childhood and hundreds more who fought their calling with a rising panic while their friends prayed. 今天传讲基督的福音的人，传道人包括很多自从幼年就渴慕传道事工的人，另外更多的是对自己的呼召不断的挣扎，慌张多年，同时主内的朋友为他祷告的。What is important is 重要的是that your own awareness of Christ’s gifts should be joined with the perception of the church.重要的是你对基督所赐给你的恩赐的领会，应该和教会察觉这些恩赐连接起来。
To this end there is no substitute for regular fellow-ship. 因此没有什么可以取代正常的教会团契生活。

On the day that you are set apart to minister Christ’s Word you will be in the midst of his people. 你被分别为圣，就是按立传基督的道的那一天，你将会是站在上帝的子民当中的。The parts of that service require the communion of the saints: 按理崇拜的不同部分必须会有圣徒的相通：a worshiping congregation，一个在敬拜的会众，men of God preaching，属上帝的人讲道，praying，祷告，extending hands of blessing and of fellowship in the gospel. 按手求上帝赐福，并行右手的相交之礼。That service would be a curious way to seal a solitary calling. 基督呼召，假如仅仅是在祷告的密室临到，那么按立崇拜就显得很奇怪了，就不需要了。
You are not first set by Christ in the midst of his church on the day of your ordination. 你不是在按立那天，才第一次在教会中被主分别出来的。You need your fellow-Christians now，你现在就需要主内的弟兄姐妹，and they need you.他们也需要你。Private soul-searching is not enough to determine your call to the ministry. 私下的自我省查，对确定你做传道的呼召是不足够的。The judgment of the people of God must be sought; 你必须寻求上帝子民的判断；long before the time when it must be given formally it should be sought informally. 正式承认是必须的，在这个正式承认之前，必须寻求非正式的承认。
Welcome the counsel and criticism of your pastor and your Christian friends. 必须欢迎牧师和主内亲友的劝告和批评。Above all，remember Paul’s favorite figure of the athlete. 最重要的是要记得保罗所做的比喻，运动员的比喻。Your gifts will become evident on the field.你的恩赐必然会在运动场上显明出来的。Neither private meditation nor personal counseling can prove your calling. 只是私下的祷告，或者只是接受个别的辅导是不足够查验，证实你的呼召的。That comes with God’s blessing on your active service in the body of Christ. 必须在基督的身体里服侍，并且结果子或者蒙福，你的呼召才临到。
Of course the necessary ministry of church fellowship must be found in Christ. 当然，所有必须要有的教会团契相交服侍而合一的心，必须要在基督里的团契、基督里的服侍。There is no fellowship of righteousness with iniquity，义不可以与罪相交，也不可能的，no communion of light with darkness，光不可能与黑暗相交，no concord of Christ with Belial. 基督也不可能与巴力相交。Young men sometimes distrust ecclesiastical counsel with good reason.有时候青年的弟兄们不信任教会的劝告，这个不无道理的。When the power of church order is turned to the service of another gospel 当教会的权柄，有组织的教会的权柄，转为促进另一个福音的时候 ，（另一个福音转为参考《加拉太书》第一章1~10节，）a spiritual tyranny arises 属灵的暴君就产生了，that offers stumbling blocks rather than stepping-stones to the candidate for the ministry. 在那种暴政的情况中，教会对那些想要预备做传道的人，教会就成了绊脚石，而不是踏脚石。
Never were the warnings of the Pastoral Epistles against false teachers more needed than today. 新约圣经教牧书信，就是《提摩太前后书》《提多书》，充满着警告，要教会提防假教师，没有什么时候比今天更需要听到这个警告的。Yet a man must no more allow the existence of false churches to drive him from the true 但是信徒不可以，只因为有假教会，就不去寻找真的教会than he would allow the existence of false Christs to drive him from the Saviour. 就等于他不可以因为教会里有假基督，就不来亲近主耶稣自己。
To prove your calling 若要查验你的呼召，your fellowship must be with the Son of God and with the sons of God.你的团契相交必须是要与上帝的独生子相交，同时和上帝的众子们相交。Are you called to the ministry?你是否已经蒙召做传道呢？ If you have been called out of darkness into Christ’s light 你假如已经蒙召出黑暗，进到基督的光明中，you are surely called to ministry. 肯定已经蒙召要服侍主的。（called to ministry没有那个定冠词没有the）You must do all in your power to show forth his praises who called you to follow him. 你要尽力而为，宣扬祂的美德（彼得前书2章9节），祂已经呼召你要跟随祂。If you refuse to minister to the sick and imprisoned you are refusing Christ.假如你拒绝探访病人或者被囚者，你是在拒绝主基督。
If you care nothing for men lost in sin假如你不关心那些在罪中失丧的，you do not know the love of Christ 你还没有体会过基督的爱or the joy of heaven when the lost are found.也没有体会过一个罪人悔改，天上的喜乐。The question then is only this:所以你要问的唯一的问题就是： what has God put in your power to do in his service? 上帝给你目前能够做的侍奉是哪一些的事工呢？What you can do you must do，你目前能够做的。你必须去做，and find yourself at best an unprofitable servant.做了，只能看自己是无用的仆人。（《路加福音》17章第十节，我读了这节经文就会感觉到为什么今天这么多传道人基督徒一天到晚在讲：我们服侍得什么奖赏？奖赏！真的是本末倒置。主耶稣在路加17章第十节说：这样你们做完了一切所吩咐的，只当说我们是无用的仆人所做的，本是我们应份做的。
Have you the gifts for the gospel ministry? 那么你有没有传福音的道的恩赐呢？Then Christ has set before you an open door that no man can shut.那么基督已经为你设立敞开的门，没有人能够关闭的。To you it is given to bear fruit not thirty，nor sixty，but a hundredfold.主所赐给你的恩典是要你结果实不是30倍，不是60倍，而是100倍。
The harvest is plentiful，庄稼已经熟了，the laborers are few. 工人缺少。Pray the Lord of the harvest and go forth in his name. 要向庄稼的主祈求，然后奉祂的名去。He that has begun a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ 在你里头开始善工的上帝必然成全这事，直到耶稣基督的日子的。(腓1:6). Jesus prayed all night before he called the twelve (Luke 6:12，13). 耶稣整夜祷告，然后呼召了十二使徒。He intercedes in heaven as he calls you，今天的祂在天上为你代求，同时呼召你，praying that though you be sifted as wheat 祂的祷告是，虽然你好像麦子被篩，your faith will not fail，你的信心仍然坚定不动摇，but that you may become his chosen vessel 但愿你成为他所拣选选的器皿to bear his name before the nations.在万国面前宣扬祂的圣名。
